Party Favor Bio 2021
As an artist who completely pushes the boundaries of what’s seemingly possible, Party Favor (Dylan Ragland) is permanently changing the artistic landscape of music today. Born in New York City and currently living in Los Angeles, Party Favor draws inspiration from these cities that have helped him develop a unique musical repertoire spanning across multiple genres. He’s collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including A$AP Ferg, Diplo, Gucci Mane, Offset, Lil Baby, Rich the Kid, and 2 Chainz, and released chart-topping music from his breakout hit ‘Bap U’ (over 40 million streams) to his 2016 debut EP ‘Party & Destroy’, with the latter reaching #1 on US Dance Radio, #2 on iTunes Dance, and #7 on Billboard's Dance radio charts. On the live front, Party Favor has secured a long-standing residency with Hakkasan Group in Vegas (Hakkasan, Omnia, Wet Republic) and performed across the globe at major festivals including Coachella, Creamfields, Billboard’s Hot 100 Fest, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival among many others.
Party Favor has landed sync deals with globally-recognized brands including Google, Coca-Cola and T-Mobile as well as prime-time television commercials and ad campaigns for Mountain Dew, Gatorade, the NFL network, and most recently the new Fast and Furious trailer during the Super Bowl. Most recently he scored the entire Madden 21 video game as well as contributed an original song “ACTUP” for the game soundtrack, and his hit single ‘Bap U’ was featured in Amazon Prime Video’s May 2020 content reel highlighting their top movies and tv shows on the platform. His sync deals also span across box-office films including 2017’s Baywatch starring The Rock, which featured four tracks from Party Favor throughout the film. Additionally his music has been featured in other major films such as Neighbors 2, Life of The Party, The Purge, and hit TV series including HBO’s Silicon Valley, ABC’s Superstore and CW’s The Flash. Moving into the gaming world, Party Favor’s music has been placed in games including FIFA, MADDEN, NEED 4 SPEED among many others multiple times.
A true creative, Party Favor uses the knowledge of his film and acting experience to develop artistic visuals around each of his projects. His hit 2019 ‘Layers’ debut album (over 35 million streams) and 2020 EP ‘FRESH LAUNDRY’ saw the producer share personal stories of his life through the music and designed a one-of-a-kind visual experience to supplement each body of work. For his recent series ‘Isolation Beats’, Party Favor challenged himself to produce new beats each week and paired them with unique visuals crafted by his favorite video creators, eventually accompanied by the release of his full “ISOLATION ALBUM” on DSPs. Well-received by audiences across the globe, both ‘Layers’ and ‘FRESH LAUNDRY’ are expertly crafted releases, with the latter showing his growth into new genres by collaborating with the likes of Yung Pinch, Georgia Ku, Wes Period and RUNN.
Expanding his artistic horizons, Party Favor introduced a new side-project in 2019 called SIDEPIECE. Described as club-focused house music, Party Favor teamed up with fellow DJ Nitti Gritti and together produced their breakout hit ‘On My Mind’ with Diplo (over 100 million streams to date) that hit #1 on the Beatport charts for 21 consecutive weeks, #1 on US Dance Radio, was named the #1 most played track of 2020 on 1001Tracklists, and ultimately scored
them a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Record. The pair notably performed last May during the EDC Las Vegas Livestream that became one of the most-viewed sets of the weekend.
Entering 2021, Party Favor is preparing for his next album masterpiece as he continues to express what it means to experiment in the ever-changing realm of electronic music.
